The Mi Frida Project was focused on building skills to be able to write a 300+ word paper in Spanish. The project was was about a book we read about Frida Kahlo, the book we read in Spanish was a biography about her life and the tragedies she went though. The next step of this project was to pick someone that we wanted to do our own biography on, we also would be assigned to do a portrait of our person in the painting style of Frida. The person I decided to do was Van Gogh. I wanted to do a different artist because it was would be interesting to do a painting of an artist with someone else's style. I really like Van Gogh's art and I wanted to try to do one of his self portraits.
Overall, I was very satisfied with my art piece because it turned out a lot better than I expected. I didn't have any experience with painting so I was expecting it to not look very good. There are a lot of things I would like to have changed, by the end I thought my portrait didn't really look like Van Gogh. If I were to do it again I would've spent more time refining it, I only gave myself a day to add refinements to my art piece. Overall, I feel very satisfied with what I learned, created and wrote. I didn't realize how much Spanish I had actually learned until I was writing my paper, and it helped me realize what areas I needed to work on. For example I realized that I needed to work on Past Participles, After realizing this we did a lesson in class which was super helpful and I was able to correct my paper. |
